"I was pretty determined not to become a starving artist. But the winding road down which life led me, has taught me that there’s plenty worse than that. I’ve learned to share my passion for horses, for life, for people; the road has taught me to look for the good, and lifted me into the light -- even when I thought there was none to be found.
Life is a lot like photography -- If we are always looking for light, we will find it. We may simply have to change our perspective to see it, to capture it.
But, if we are always waiting for the other shoe to drop, or for something bad to happen, rest assured it will. And we’ll be stuck in the dark -- unable to see the light, unable the good around us.
Life is a lot less stressful if we try to stay in the light and find the good -- the good in any situation; the good in the people that surround us; the good in the world.
I’ve spent a lot of time in the dark, always waiting for the other shoe to drop instead of being in the light; living in the moment; feeling my way through. However, I’m getting the hang of this living in the light thing, and I’ve embraced the starving artist that we each have inside ourselves. I’ve loved her into the light. My hope is that, you too can learn to embrace the light in every situation. "
