Pre-Con Workshop: Rapid City Photowalk
$49 Friday 1:00 - 3:00pm. We will meet at the corner of 6th and Main , otherwise known as Main Street Square where we experience and photograph the wonderful mix of people and the stunning sculptures by Yuki Nagase. Then we will head over to Art Alley. Art Alley is a world famous, ever changing canvas of stunning and sometimes provocative graffiti art. Time permitting; we will end our tour at the Dahl Art Center and view the many exhibitions on display. Minimum of 4 Registrants needed. Instructor: Steve Babbitt

$49 Friday 1:00 - 3:00pm. Get a feel for how to effectively photograph action in this session with Richard Carlson. Carlson will share knowledge, equipment and a few stories about photographing sporting events ranging from prep coverage to contracts with the NBA. Plenty of time for Q&A. Pre-Con Workshop: Badlands Landscape
$49 Friday 1:00 - 3:00PM. We will be photographing the rugged landscapes of the Badlands along with the wildlife that live in the park. Our workshop will begin in the Sage Creek Basin, photographing wildlife and autumn landscapes. From there we will make our way through the remainder of the park. Lunch n' Learn: "The Black Hills Yesterday & Today"
FREE to "Full Weekend" & "Saturday Only" Registrants. Grab some lunch to go , and join us at the HARCC in Deadwood for an educational look at the Black Hills Yesterday & Today with South Dakota Photographer, and Author Paul Horsted. This event will take place from Noon - 1:00pm on Saturday. Attendance is optional, and is FREE as part of your Shootout registration. We hope you can join us, and if not you have free time to explore the area on your own; or rest up for the rest of this fun-filled day!

We have eight instructors lined up to do this with you! Reviewers: Jim Caldwell; Fred Rodgers; Richard Carlson; Jerry Rawlings; Chris Yushta; Chad Coppess; Steve Babbitt; Becca Gage Shelbourne. Reviews take place from 1:30-2:50pm, and will be 20 minutes each; so if you sign up for this; please bring 5-10 of your BEST Printed Images to have reviewed.

Instructor Roundtables/Social
FREE to all Registrants. You may not want to miss this special gathering taking place from 7:30 - 8:45PM. We will have Ten Shootout Instructors on hand to participate in an opportunity where you can ask questions in small group setting. Here's how it will work: The instructors will be set up at various stations; you will choose an instructor/station to start with; there will then be 12 minute of Q&A; then participants get up and switch to another instructor station for another 12 minute Q&A. This will happen 5 times; and will be kind of a rapid fire process, but you are sure to pick up some tips; and ideas by the end. This is a casual social event; snacks provided. It is also optional, and FREE to you as a Shootout registrant.

Night Owls Add-On Session: Concepts In Lighting
$40. 9:00-10:30pm. This session is led by Richard Carlson. Participants will learn about some basic lighting strategies and the equipment used to carry out a scene. A field trip down the street from the classroom at a motorcycle restoration shop will be part of the experience. Plenty of time for Q&A.

Night Owls AddOn Session: Astro Photograpy At Crow Peak
$40. 9:00-10:30pm. This one is going to be fun! If clear sky’s permit we will have near enough to a new moon to be able to catch the Milky Way peeking out from behind the iconic Crow Peak! If you have some experience with night photography the possibilities will be endless. If you haven’t experimented much with night photography, no worries. We will help you with a few tips and tricks to make sure you have it down in no time. The more familiar you are with your camera, the easier it will be to learn night photography.
